Post 4: Message/Meaning of my work - Pedro Jimenez

The Message behind my work

I mainly work around environments, and landscapes. Usually cities, bedroom, or any type of place, It usually depends on the background and how I’m feeling. I always relate my work as to how I’m doing or feeling mentally. I’ve used my work as an outlet to calm down my own anxiety, it always helps me stay with a clear mind and calm. I also like to think my art tells its own story depending on the scenery, there may be context clues that could help tell a story to help the audience. My work usually needs a peaceful scenery or uncanny space. It is important for me to enjoy my work, the process while working on it keeps me motivated, depending to the audience I’m reaching out to. I want my audience to feel connected with my work, maybe a piece of melancholy or an experience of its own.  I honestly wouldn't know how my work would be received. I would mainly aim for a comfortable space to understand my work and feel connected to it, even if it's not received well, as long as there is a reaction to my actions. My work accomplishes my own experience and visuals of how I see the world, I hope for anyone who feels overwhelmed and out of place to slow down, I want them to take a minute to just breathe.

My work and how it ties to my message:

1. Ghost Shopping - Procreate
I remember I made it when I felt alone doing groceries,
mainly just a part of growing up as a human.

2. White Noise - Procreate
Looking into the void and it stares back at you,
mainly when you get lost in thougths and find yourself staring at nothing.

3. Fear of missing out - Procreate
The after party, feeling like running out of time
and missed out on a great time.

4. Hypnotized - Procreate (In-Progress)
(gotta be honest, im missing lights/shadows here but I love the idea of this drawing so far)
The awkward shared silence when comfortable with someone,
can do or wont do anything together in comfort.

5. Lost - Procreate
Not knowing directions, been lost before LOL.
its a weird feeling of retracing steps.
