Class we are getting straight into it. Welcome to my complete artist statement
I am a multimedia artist. I have works in Acrylic, Charcoal, Gouache, Water color, Photoshop, Illustrator, Pen and pencil and Indesign. What I am currently working on is in Indesign, Gouache and Illustrator. I'm prepping myself to work on flyers, magazines and brochures. More on the corporate side but I'm still keeping the artist alive with abstract digital art. I would describe my work as out there and appealing. I blend color together to make it appealing to the eye. If I don't like it I try to repurpose it or just scrap it and try again. Funny saying that when my work is abstract and intentionally fuzzy. Like an old tv that has no signal so it's just noise or a person with bad eyesight trying to see someone far away.
Now you may be wondering how I get these ideas. Let me tell you. Either wanting to do my own version of a character like Spider-Man, Brain storming or through conversation. When Into the Spider verse came out there was a trend were people would draw a spider man version of themselves. It was very popular so I followed suit. Conversations that I have with friends and family even to my self (we all do it) I try to make a reality. I get excited to try to do an original idea or when it comes to my favorite character Spider-Man. Brain storming gets me the man walking. A abstract piece of mine.
What's my process of making these pieces? After having the idea in mind I usually rough sketch it on paper or I wait until I get to my computer at home. With that I put on music open up the app I need and head to work. If I don't have anything in mind and I want to draw I honestly just turn my brain off an try to keep one connected line. Draw everything with that one line and if I need to go to another side I just retrace my steps and break away to the fresh part of the page. It may sound weird but its relieving to not think and let your hand move on its own.
