MESSAGE/MISSON _ Olga Doutkevitch
What is the meaning, idea, and message of your
work?
I want to convey the message of goodness and beauty in the
world around all of us. I want to let people see beauty better and then have
more beauty and less of ruthless destruction.
What is a problem in the world that your work helps to
solve or a story it helps to tell?
To me the problem is thoughtless greed and violence instead
of kindness, love, and caring.
What is important to convey in your work?
I think that Art (and perhaps sometimes my art) might give some
good energy to kind and caring people; and to these who don’t want to think
about it, my art might remind that kindness and beauty is important enough.
How do you want your audience to feel?
I don’t know how my audience is supposed to feel. I hope
they will stop and look and have their own associations from seeing my artworks.
The images in my art are semi-abstract, that let people see many things in it.
What does the work accomplish?
I also hope life might be at least a little bit better
because of mh art that is now present in the life of a person.
I think that beautiful handmade objects made by the artist are
good for the soul! I know that Art has a healing power and can restore some of
the goodness for humanity. Maybe I make a small impact, for just a few moments;
and maybe more, and for longer.
