post 8 art history - fatima flores

the byzantine era is what i’ve learned so much about during my community college classes, and i found a lot of interesting artworks and architecture from that era. i don’t really find a lot of interesting artworks from the modern art era, it doesn’t pop out to my like the byzantine time does, the paintings in the churches are beautiful, and well as the architecture. the religious meaning in the byzantine era draws to me the most, because i am religious and the paintings during early, middle and late byzantine art, demonstrate the power and significance, and byzantine rulers employed art and architecture. and with the emperor's representations, they're frequently less realistic and instead, emphasized his significance through compositional cues like size, positioning, and color. it was evident that the emperor's authority was secure because it was frequently visually linked to christ.

as time when on, art has changed. my artworks is truly different from the byzantine artworks. even if i don't represent my religion onto my artwork, i admire the mosaics and paintings and architecture. the meaning of my artwork is different from what i've learned from my art history classes of the byzantine empire and its artworks. my art pieces are more to represent my personalities and what i enjoy, the byzantine artworks does, somewhat, represent their own interests, like christianity.
