Artist Statement
As a graphic designer, I work primarily in digital mediums, branding, illustration, typography, and motion design but I’m always exploring new materials and visual styles to deepen the emotional impact of my work. Whether I’m building a brand identity, creating a poster, or designing a digital experience, I aim to communicate something meaningful and emotionally resonant. I want people to not just see my designs but to feel something from them.
While design can often feel polished or impersonal, I aim to create work that communicates something real something that reflects personal experiences or emotional truths. My work is shaped by moments in my life things I’ve felt, lived through, or witnessed. I often sketch out an idea the moment it comes to me so I don’t lose it, especially when it's tied to something I’ve personally experienced. These raw moments often become the heart of my designs.
I’m not tied to one visual aesthetic—my style shifts depending on the project. Some pieces lean into punk or downtown grittiness, while others are soft, modern, or playful. I think having this flexibility is important, especially when working in branding, where you have to adapt to the tone and story of each client or concept while still creating something authentic and memorable.
Branding is where I feel the most creative and challenged. I love helping people or businesses tell their story visually. There's something powerful about building a brand from the ground up choosing colors, typefaces, layouts, and imagery that capture a voice and make it shine.
I’m inspired by designers like Jessica Walsh, whose bold, emotional, and daring branding work shows how personal and impactful design can be. I’m also influenced by Lang, the Chinese artist behind Hirono, whose soft, surreal designs across toys, painting, and animation remind me that storytelling can happen in so many visual forms. Both of these artists inspire me to push boundaries and trust my instincts when developing my own voice.
Design is my way of connecting with people visually, emotionally, and truthfully. Through branding and storytelling, I want my work to reflect who I am and, more importantly, resonate with others in ways that feel real.
