Hello everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful day. Truly to be blessed. You guys know me or at least semi due. I'm not holding it against you. But today I will tell you my artist statement and a small bio. As you know the drill as an artist the best thing I can do is just talk about myself. If I don't a random lightning bolt will strike someplace on the world.
I’m a multimedia artist. My primary medium is graphic design. One thing in common about my work is that it’s Abstract/ rough. Both works are very abstract and dealing with space and the perception of vision. Since I have glasses, if I take them off everything is blurry, and I want to portray that feeling in part of my work. That’s the way of abstraction. Have people think they are seeing something but never telling them. Or having people think what they are seeing is the truth when in reality it’s not. Like being dehydrated in the desert.
Coming up with ideas for my work is just from a Conversation, random thought or trial and error. I want to draw my girlfriend like mantis from marvel since we watched a movie with her friends. The movie is pretty space based. And space is amazing and so is the arctic so why not combine both in the glacier in space. Other works are made by just trial and error. Seeing what colors look like together and if it’s pleasing to the eye. Even if it’s not I usually try to see if it works with the colors if not then try again.
These pieces of art are supposed to be visually pleasing to the audience. Very limited to no real-world problems are mentioned or solved in my art. Maybe when I’m older but all my art pieces are for entertainment. And there is nothing wrong with it. People don’t need to be reminded about so and so and they just want to unplug. As this world gets more political people would want an escape. Though in the other hand many people's personality is just based on politics
Bio
A 23 year old college student trying to be a good man. Kenneth is currently studying graphic design while working. Changing from classic art to digital mid-way through college and selling a piece to Hudson’s president. The road has not been so smooth. With getting older and more being expected in life art has taken a back foot. Not losing the love for it but not being able to fully get connected with it.
I really relate to your comment on your art being just for entertainment purposes and that being fully okay. I've been doing art basically forever and I've always felt this way about my work. I never really understood why there needed to be this profound direct message in every art piece. I think by someone just making work with no message is still a message and/or an extension of oneself. So yeah, I agree, nothing is wrong making work just for the vibes.
