FLORAL REBIRTH (created in Procreate)

My piece reflects the cycle of life and renewal emerging from decay. A blend of beauty and rebirth from the depths of death.

Hello everyone! My name is Arianna Almaguer, and I am a senior majoring in graphic design at NJCU. Although my concentration is graphic design my artwork does not stay in one medium: I sketch, paint, printmaking, photography, and digital art: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate. I am always sketching; if you find me deep in thoughts scribbling, thats because I am letting my ideas flow on the pages. I am inspired by the beauty of life and death and would love to keep continuing to make these artworks. I am trying to grow my portfolio and create more things that interest me. I dont have a distinct style of my works, it varies.

2 quotes and short response

  • "To collect photographs is to collect the world."

    • This quote suggests that photographs serve as a means of capturing and preserving moments from the world, effectively creating a collection of experiences and realities. It highlights the idea that photography allows individuals to amass a visual representation of the world around them, making it a powerful tool for documentation and memory.

  • "While a painting or a prose description can never be other than a narrowly selective interpretation, a photograph can be treated as a narrowly selective transparency."

    • This quote contrasts photography with painting and prose, emphasizing that while both are selective in their representation, photographs are often perceived as more transparent and truthful. It underscores the unique nature of photography in its ability to present a seemingly objective view of reality, even though it is still subject to the photographer's choices and perspective.
