POST 4 MESSAGE/MISSION: Brianna Pacheco

The meaning of my work is anything that comes to my mind. I like to draw from my imagination and use references to bring my art to life. The idea of my work is fantasy. It is a genre that I immensely enjoy. Stuff that does not exist is more interesting to me compared to the boringness of real life. I would rather draw witches and monsters than regular people.

The story it helps to tell is a fantasy world. It isn’t modern times so the technological advances that exist in real life don’t appear. There are species that make no logical sense as to why they should exist.

I feel that it is important to convey in my work a world that doesn’t exist. It is a blank canvas that could be built upon with things that don’t occur in real life. Which is why I enjoy the fantasy genre. I like that bring in magic and nonexistent species to see how it shapes my work.

I want my audience to feel immersed in my work. The type of feeling that makes them observe the works more closely and try to imagine the type of world of the works. I want them to form guesses on background or what exactly something is based on what they see.

I imagine my work would be received well. There are people who like fantasy art. An imaginary world filled with species other than humans is interesting compared to what is seen in everyday life.

My work accomplishes introducing a world that is different from the one that we know. There exist things that are impossible.

Cow Witch

Dragon Lady

Kitsune

Another Cow Witch

Pumpkin Witch

Each of these drawings depicts the fantasy genre that I enjoy. They are things that don't exist in this world like witches, hybrids, and kitsune.
