Artist Bio
Rachel de La Caridad Alfonso Casanas was born in Havana, Cuba, in 2001. When she was three, she showed a strong artistic inclination and began dancing ballet at that age. Her father owned a small art gallery in Havana, where she spent hours watching him paint. At 17, she took her first drawing class and discovered her passion for graphic design. In 2020, she earned a scholarship for a bachelor’s degree in fine arts at New Jersey City University. Her style is characterized as practical, organic, and minimalistic. She enjoys working with interesting color palettes and draws inspiration from Spanish paintings. Her favorite technique is oil painting. In 2023, she started RDA Creative Visual Essence studio as CEO and only graphic designer and freelancer. She has contributed to several business visual brand identity projects.
Her artwork in this exhibition seeks to show the viewer the importance of a strong visual brand identity and its impact on a brand. Rachel’s biggest inspirations are Jessica Walsh and Paul Rand. She is currently working on expanding her portfolio and freelance clientele in order to enter a reputable design studio.
