some of my pieces i create are with acrylic, oil paint, a tablet or a pencil and eraser. a couple of my artworks consists of still-lives or original drawings. the way i bring my paintings and drawings together is to identify how i can position the objects from real life, to the canvas; similar with drawing in pencil and paper, bring whatever comes to mind and try to position the human anatomy in the way i can be proud of. my pieces have a meaning, whether it’d be a painting from a class or a digital drawing meant for myself. my personality and interests is what influences my work, confident and bold, but reserved. i was never fond of a painting course, because i thought i was terrible at painting. the first painting i did, it’s the one i most proud of. the still-life painting was troubling at first, but every time i went to the class, it was more enjoyable. the more times i went to that course, the more i learned about color and techniques of painting. the reflection of the still-life, is most satisfying. it took 3 months to paint, but pretty satisfied with the outcome. two of my character sheets were made by imagination, i’ve created both characters, based on my interests, at the time. throughout the years i grew up, from 2016 to today, they grew up, with me, as well. they’ve been modified and inspired a couple more times, until i found the style i like and wouldn’t have to revise. i’ve enjoyed improving my characters, giving them names, deciding which backgrounds they would have, try to incorporate what we have in the 21st century, but also having to keep it within the timeline. these character reference sheets mean a lot to me, not only did i improve my characters throughout the years, i’ve also improved my art style; they are like caricatures, but they’re non-fictional characters, which means i can create any gender, sexuality or race that catches my eye.
