Artist Statement:
I’m a visual artist who primarily works in illustration and digital media, drawing from personal experiences, childhood nostalgia, and cultural storytelling. My art is heavily inspired by cartoons, animation, and characters that bring joy, especially during hard times. Through expressive characters and vibrant, bold imagery, I aim to create pieces that connect emotionally with viewers, encouraging happiness, comfort, and a sense of belonging. My style is playful yet intentional, grounded in fluid lines, rich color palettes, and dynamic composition.
Art has always been more than a passion for me, it’s been my way of processing the world. I started drawing in kindergarten and never stopped. Growing up Haitian and living in New Jersey has shaped my identity and perspective, fueling a curiosity about the world and a desire to make people feel seen and uplifted. Traveling, playing the piano, and watching animated films have all informed my creative lens. I’m especially influenced by artists like Takashi Murakami and KAWS, whose work blurs the lines between fine art and pop culture, and Kara Walker, whose narratives challenge and inspire.
My work is driven by the simple but powerful goal of making people feel better—just as cartoons and animated stories helped me during tough times. When I'm feeling down, I turn to colorful characters and lively stories to lift my spirits. I want to offer that same sense of escape, comfort, and joy to others through my own work. It’s about emotional connection and accessibility, making art that doesn’t require explanation but invites interpretation and imagination.
My process is intuitive and expressive. I often start with a sketch or idea that reflects a mood or theme—then I build from there, letting the characters and colors guide the direction. While I mostly work digitally, I also explore traditional media and enjoy experimenting with new techniques. Whether it’s a personal illustration or a collaborative piece, I focus on energy, emotion, and storytelling.
Ultimately, I want my audience to feel seen, comforted, or even just smile for a moment. My art exists to connect, to brighten someone’s day, and to remind people that joy and creativity are powerful tools of resilience. As I continue growing, learning, and evolving, I hope to deepen that connection and reach new creative heights.
