The movement I feel most connected to is Art Nouveau. It was a break from the imitative historicism that dominated the 19th century, creating something new and unique. Art Nouveau sought to unify fine art and applied arts, bringing beauty into everyday objects and spaces. What draws me to it is how effortlessly it blends beauty, nature, and fantasy. The flowing lines—whether in the curves of hair, fabric, or the vines and floral motifs wrapping around figures—give the artwork an almost living quality, as though it’s telling a story.
What truly captivates me is how feminine energy is at the heart of so much Art Nouveau work. Artists like Alphonse Mucha depicted women not only as beautiful but as powerful, mystical, and deeply connected to the natural world. His figures feel otherworldly, like spirits of the seasons or goddesses of emotion. That’s the kind of energy I strive to capture in my own art—figures that embody both softness and strength. The dreamy, whimsical nature of Art Nouveau, grounded in meticulous craft and detail, inspires me to create work that feels like it belongs in a world just slightly different from ours.
