Le’Andra LeSeur was inspired by the process that undertakes the body when we experience things. The way we see, how to speak and hear. It’s our bodies' way of absorbing things Language and art-making is the way to explore and convey what we’ve accumulated.
My motivation relates to how I wish to convey life experiences from my perspective or those shared with me. Our bodies are our conduit for reality as we know it, our experiences begin and end with our bodies. Art and language are one of the few ways to share and convey our realities with each other, to grow an understanding.
Choice, material, process, aesthetic, and content, all of these accumulate to illustrate origin, cohesiveness, design, and planning. No matter the medium, if you can convey an understanding of the medium you work with, along with a reasoning for your use of conveying said medium, i believe that is halfway towards achieving understanding with the viewer.
