What inspired LeSeur? Compare what motivates you to create meaning.
- LeSuer was inspired by the pain. Talking about emotions can feel like waves that come and go. I mix of soft and roughness. Talking about experience that the body had felt and turned it into a language as well as movement through those past actions. Just like LeSeur I want to create from what has happened to me, what I have experienced and how those have shaped/mold every action or memory I hold. I have the essence I just need the guidance to be able to sculpt what its potential can be.
How does your choice of material, process, aesthetic, content et. Reinforce your message?
- My material of choice can vary per work I feel I need to create. The one I tend to use most are canvases with acrylic paint. The acrylic paint has an easy drying time and can be layered on top of each other. This allows me to rush through different stages of the process much faster than oil and less structured than watercolor.
- My process for whatever piece I am in the creation for goes from me getting and idea from listening to music or show/movie. That feeling that is awoken from those I sketch out different thumbnails and compositions that I am able then to step back and I find the one that most represents what I am trying to convey.
- The aesthetic I tend to go for is a Baroque composition with more a modern twist with the figures. The need to show queerness as a work of art, through the people or through the moment captured on the caverns thats not hyperrealistic but impressionistic is my goal.
