Post 8 Art history- Neo expressionism

Hi everyone and welcome back to another post. Not gonna lie. Im a bit tired with a headache that won't leave me. Anyways imma talk about neo expressionism as art history and how I take inspiration in my art. I also wanted to talk about digital work. Since it is a medium that is becoming more popular. Giving way to new creators.

"Neo-Expressionist artists depicted their subjects in an almost raw and brutish manner, newly resurrecting in their frequently large-scale works, the highly textural and expressive brushwork and intense colors that had been rejected by the immediately preceding art movements". That explains the art. Very rough to me almost like someone sketched it. That goes with my art which is very flawed. Not in a sense of not liking it but in a sense of not being smooth. You get that a lot with pencil sketches and that's what I like. There is an extreme to it but at a certain point it's still good.

With digital art. I personally enjoy it. Many sites like twitter (x) Instagram and many more have many artist who do digital art. Same with classical art. It is such a broad topic. People make digital animations of older ips like dragon ball, Spider-man and the list goes on. I'm a bit surprised on why this isn't on the art history line as an event. It's a big shift on how we do things. You can copy and paste character models in different works. It's a time saver. If it saves you 20 minutes or 3 hours you can use that time for other things. Anyways that's all I have. God bless you and have a good day.
